What are the order deadlines? Most order deadlines are 2-3 days prior to the delivery date. See the order deadlines for each pickup location here.
What if I need to cancel my order? You may cancel an order on the website by logging into your account any time before the order deadline. If you need to cancel an order after the deadline, please call us by noon the day before pickup to cancel the order.
What if I can't pickup my order at the scheduled time?
Please notify us ASAP if you are unable to pickup your order at the scheduled time. Orders that are not picked up will be subject to charges equal to $5 or 15% (whichever is more).
What is a Pickup Location? Pickup Locations are places where you meet us to pickup your order. Most of our pickup locations are in business parking lots, churches and home driveways by owners permission.
How do I pickup my order? Arrive at the pickup location on your scheduled date and time. NOTE: Please be on time. We will be on our way to our next pickup and cannot wait on latecomers. We will have a table near our delivery vehicle where you will receive your order. Please check your order for accuracy before leaving the site! We will do our best to make right any mistakes made on our part.
What should I bring on pickup day?
Coolers (As necessary, especially in the heat of the summer). We will pack your order in an insulated bag, but if you have a long drive home or will be out running errands, please make arrangements for additional coolers or ice to keep your order cold.
Can a friend pick up my order? Yes, we encourage all customers to place their own order for accuracy, but feel free to have someone else pickup for you. Just make sure they know when to arrive and what you ordered so that they can make sure the order is correct.
What form of payments do you accept? Credit cards may be used to pay online at time of ordering or at farmers markets. We also accept cash and check at the New Albany Farmers Market.
Is there a delivery fee? No! There are no fees for picking up at one of our many pickup locations.
Do you ship your products?
No. We do not currently offer shipping.
How are your products produced? It is important to us that the animals are out grazing high quality pasture. We are committed to providing wholesome products produced and made without any chemicals, antibiotics or hormones.
Why is your farm not “certified” organic? Because we have one-on-one contact with our customers, we choose not to put our resources toward costly and time-consuming certifications. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about our farming practices.
Are the cattle or other ruminant animals finished with grain? We do not feed our cattle or other ruminant animals grain at any time!
Are the poultry and pigs fed grain? Yes, along with being on pasture in spring, summer, and fall, the poultry and pigs receive a grain ration mixed here on the farm containing non-GMO corn and soybeans from local farmers committed to preserving the land in its natural state.
Can I visit the farm? Yes, please contact us to plan your visit to ensure someone is available to assist you and answer questions.
How long will meat last in my freezer? Our frozen meat products can be easily stored in the freezer for up to one year.
How long can your eggs be stored in the refrigerator? The eggs can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 30 days. We do our best to get our eggs to you within a few days to two weeks of being laid.
How long will the dairy products last? Most customers say the milk will be good for 10 to 14 days. Of course, the cultured products will last longer.
Are raw milk cheese and other raw dairy products safe? While proper refrigeration is the best thing to maintain a safe product, any food can harbor bad bacteria and make a person ill. Milk from a healthy animal, that is allowed access to fresh pasture, fresh water and clean living quarters, will not be exposed to the high levels of pathogens associated with various illnesses caused most often in confinement dairies. learn more about raw milk safety at realmilk.com
Is raw dairy legal? In the state of Indiana, it is illegal to sell raw dairy products for human consumption. We have a license with the state of Indiana that allows us to sell raw dairy products for consumption by pets only. Hard cheeses made with raw milk are legal to sell if they are aged at least 60 days.
Should I return the mason jars? Yes! All mason jars that you receive when ordering dairy products can be cleaned and returned. For each jar returned, we will pay back the jar deposit you paid when purchasing the dairy products.
Do the jars need to be clean when I return them? Yes, it is imperative that all returned jars be clean--as in spotless. We reserve the right to not accept dirty jars.
How should I clean my jars? Rinse them immediately after use. Then wash them with hot soapy water. A dishwasher is acceptable. Let them dry completely before putting the lids on. (Rule of Thumb: If you wouldn't drink out of it, it's not clean enough!)
